This notice describes our privacy policy and how we handle and protect the personal information we collect about individuals who apply for or retain our services.

Information We Collect
The Milestone Group, as part of our relationship as your adviser, will collect information about you for business purposes, such as evaluating your financial needs, processing your requests and transactions and providing you quality service. The personal information we collect includes:

  • Information you provide to us on applications, questionnaires and other forms (such as your name, address, social security number, occupation, assets and income).
  • Information gathered from brokerage statements, mutual fund statements or other documents you authorize us to receive.

We limit access to your personal information to those employees who need to know in order to conduct our business, service your account, and help you accomplish your financial objectives. To comply with applicable laws and regulations, we maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect your personal information.  Should you choose to discontinue your relationship with The Milestone Group your personal financial information will remain confidential as long thereafter as required by law.

Sharing Information With Our Affiliates
We may share personal information described above with our affiliates for business purposes, such as servicing your accounts. With your prior consent, our affiliates may inform you about new products and services, and as required to carry out the services for which you have retained us to perform. Our affiliates are companies controlling us or under common control of our parent company.  Although the information we may share with affiliates for marketing purposes may include the information described above, all affiliates have privacy policies as stringent as ours.

Disclosure to Non-affiliated Third Parties
The Milestone Group does not disclose personal information with any non-affiliated parties except as authorized by you, or as may be required to carry out the services for which you have retained us.  Further, we share personal information with non-affiliated companies only when they agree to uphold and maintain our privacy standards when handling a client's personal information.  In addition, we may disclose personal information with non-affiliated companies and regulatory authorities as permitted or required by applicable law. For example, we may disclose personal information to cooperate with regulatory authorities and law enforcement agencies and as necessary to protect your and our rights or property. Except as described in this privacy policy, we will not use your nonpublic personal information for any other purpose unless we describe how such information will be used at the time you disclose it to us or we obtain your permission to do so.
